SDK and CLI

The idop command-line tool runs the same core as the reader. It is in preview and not yet publicly released; see SDK & CLI for status.

idop validate my-document/          # a staging directory or a .idop file
idop inspect my-document.idop       # what it would ask of the person opening it
idop pack my-document/ --output my-document.idop
idop validate --json my-document.idop

validate exits non-zero and prints the error code when a package would be refused. Warnings — such as an ignored IDOP 1.1 thumbnail — are printed with WARN and do not fail.

Without the tool, you can pack a document with any ZIP program that can store the first entry uncompressed; see Getting started.
